One day I had too many pots. I had nowhere to put them, so in a feeble attempt to organize my work space I stacked them. I was so happy with the way my forms related to each other!
As a potter, I sought function. My first stacks were “canister sets” descending in proportion from bottom to top. Viewers often saw them as funeral urns, and I learned that humans seek ceremony.
Yet I am not a student of the great archetypal traditions. I just want to put things together. I hope this is embraced as playfulness.
